About Yaritza A. Gonzalez

I am an Inglewood native and proudly attended Inglewood schools, including Worthington Elementary School, Monroe Middle School, and Animo Inglewood High School. I know firsthand the transformative role our schools can play, and the challenges students and their families can experience when they do not have the resources they need. 

I earned my bachelor's from Dartmouth College and my Master of Public Policy from the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs, where I concentrated on immigration and education policy. I served with the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics, was awarded a Fulbright Public Policy Initiative Fellowship, and now works as a Policy Manager at the Central American Resource Center (CARECEN-LA), advocating for students and their families. I am also the Co-Founder and Co-Director of the ING Fellowship, which aims to inspire, nurture, and guide young people in Inglewood and the Greater South Bay Area to organize and address different issues affecting these communities.

As your Trustee, I will prioritize restoring local control, increasing student enrollment, raising student achievement, and making sure that corporations pay their fair share to keep our schools open, safe, and welcoming learning environments.

I am committed to fighting for every student to have access to a high-quality public education.
